BBC News reports [bbc.co.uk] on an article in Nature Communications [nature.com]. Researchers examined fossils of Anchiornis huxleyi [wikipedia.org], a paravian [wikipedia.org] dinosaur. In images made with laser-stimulated fluorescence [plos.org], the outlines of the soft tissues of the creature's legs, wings and tail were discernible, including scales on the feet and the follicles of feathers. Whether organic material was present was not determined.
