So it seems, as reported earlier in submissions that also were squelched, that Richard Spencer has forced his way onto the campus of the University of Florida.

Now Spencer's lawyers have made an argument that enemies of America must be given a venue at a state University. And in response, Florida Governor Rick Scott has declared a state of emergency.
As reported in The Washington Post [washingtonpost.com]:
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Florida Gov. Rick Scott declared a state of emergency Monday in anticipation of a speech by white nationalist Richard Spencer at the University of Florida.
Oh, this makes us pine for the days of blackouts on the west coast, when the Japanese might be attacking. Unfortunately this time, it is only American Nazis. Which are not as bad as Illinois Nazis [youtube.com], if you know what I mean. But back to Florida.
In the days afterward [after Charlottesville, sub.], the University of Florida told Spencer he could not hold an event he had planned on campus. After his supporters and a lawyer questioned that decision on First Amendment grounds, the school allowed Spencer to schedule his speech and question-and-answer session for Thursday.
So now it is on, for Thursday, in a state where concealed carry and "standing your ground" should certainly apply to threats like Nazis coming to your campus. But Spencer, who does not speak for The Mighty Buzzard, by the way, says:
He said the order won’t change his plans. “I’m going to play ball,” Spencer said. “My people are in constant contact with security. We’re moving forward in good faith.”
Spencer said his followers won’t instigate violence. If altercations occur, he said, it will be because somebody else starts it.
“It’s these antifa groups,” Spencer said, referring to the anti-fascist movement. “They’re thugs. Nasty, nasty people.”
Oh, look for the violence in the antifa! Back a few generations, "antifa" was called the "Allies", and America was part of that. Now we have Florida being attacked by enemies of Eminem [nytimes.com], and the other states are not coming to Florida's aid? Not like this is Puerto Rico, or something! Of course, there is Spencer's Tweet:
BREAKING: Hurricane Ricardo expected to hit Gainsville this Thursday. pic.twitter.com/85eDCcnvdZ
— Richard ☝Spencer (@RichardBSpencer) October 16, 2017
First question: who can take a Nazi, or even a white supremacist, or at the very least a white separatist, seriously, who tweets? And, hurricane? Sorry, Richard, if that is your real name, a twenty guy (and it is all guys, sausage fest!) posse is not nearly a hurricane. And, I think, you have just lost The Mighty Buzzard, and Runaway1957, but you may still have jmorris and VLM.
But the interesting thing is that fact that there may be a tactic in the alt-right attacking universities, and it is not an intellectual attack.
University officials have done extensive planning for the event and said they intend to spend $500,000 on security.
The governor’s executive order will allow local law enforcement officials to work with state and other agencies. Scott is also activating the Florida National Guard to help if needed.
That is good, since if I remember correctly, this is what America has to do the last time they faced Nazis, they mobilized the National Guard, and sent them to Europe to punch Nazis in the face, or some reasonable facsimile.
Oh, and you may also have missed the aristarchus submission that pointed out the cost to the University of California system [soylentnews.org] from the antics of pedophile Milo Yiannoloupos. If the alt-right can keep this up, American universities will be just an administration, and Officer John Pike, [openculture.com] in order not to offend the alt-right. Certainly cannot fund actual faculty positions, so instead they might hire oppressed and discriminated against Conservative academics, you know, the ones who failed the orals. I repeat, failed the orals. OK, this last bit is easy to edit off, if there are still any editors of SoylentNews not cowed and probably buggered by the Minty Bollard. Have at it, my fellow partisans of Freedom!
