Where do you find stories to submit?

A common complaint I have about this site is it lags the other beta site by 2-3 days. I've mentioned this and get told "submit stories, help the community". My problem is, I consistently hear about suitable stories from the other beta site first. My normal daily browsing consists of The Beta Site That Shall Not Be Named, this place, fark, Ars Technica, Yahoo news, and bbc news. Outside of Fark, from which I've submitted some rejected links, all the others lag TBSTSNBN.

So, fellow Soylenters, where should I cast my net to find stories that are A) interesting to me, and B) suitable for submitting to SN?

/ What's interesting to me you ask?
// SN + beta site + ars == tech news
/// Fark + uberhumor == funny stuff
//// yahoo + bbc news == stuff happening around the world
///// msnbc was great until a few months ago, when they metro'fied their interface, don't go there anymore
////// couple guitar links, can't see any of them being appropriate
/////// Ace Frehley calling Gene Simmons a douchebag being a perfect example
//////// Editors will, if they green light this, prolly edit to reduce my BAC by a couple points
