Can creatures of the sea see in 3D? Cuttlefish were equiped with 3D glasses to test their vision [cracked.com] with surprising results. Not only can they see in 3D, they look adorable doing so. By equipping them with glasses [youtube.com] (warning: Youtube link) scientists were able to test for depth perception. The glasses were attached by first gluing velcro strips to the animal to provide anchorage for the glasses. Scientists then showed a 3D animated shrimp movie to the cuttlefish to test their depth perception which demonstrated that they do in fact see in at least three dimensions.
