Tulsi Gabbard, the Hawaiian congresswoman running as a long-shot candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination, is suing Hillary Clinton for defamation after the former first lady suggested that she was a Russian “asset”. She is seeking $50m in damages.
Gabbard, an army veteran who has served twice in the Middle East, shot down accusations that she launched the lawsuit to breathe life into her flagging campaign.
