Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) is offering a free online event May 1 & 2, 2023 with speakers on accident reconstruction -- how vehicle accidents are modeled and re-created. Users could be anyone from first responders & law enforcement to insurance companies or even a courtroom in more serious cases. Register at https://www.sae.org/accident [sae.org]
Accident Reconstruction Spectrum
Unfortunately, after any accident there is chaos. At that intense moment you aren’t just left answering questions about what happened and if everyone on the scene is okay, you are responsible for understanding how and why the accident happened in the first place.
With so many moving parts, numerous stakeholders, advancing technologies, ever-changing regulations, and emerging techniques, identifying the cause and creating accurate, thorough reports can be challenging – and nearly impossible for each stakeholder to understand what the other ones prioritize.
To help bridge the gap, SAE will once again convene accident reconstruction stakeholders – including professional reconstructionists, first responders and law enforcement – and automotive suppliers and manufactures from around the world at our second annual Accident Reconstruction Digital Summit.
I missed it last year, so I'm not sure quite what to expect. Most of the speakers will probably be plugging their services and/or software, but in keeping with general SAE guidelines they should also be passing along useful information.
