IBM Exiting from Chip Fabrication

IBM is reportedly investigating a sale of it's chip fabrication business. This sent shock waves through the industry, as IBM has invented many modern processes, and sells technology to half the world’s major companies: Samsung, Globalfoundries, UMC, STMicroelectronics, Renesas, NEC, Freescale, Toshiba and Infineon.

"IBM CEO Ginni Rometty has decided that IBM’s future is in software and services and chip manufacturing clearly doesn’t fall in either of these categories."
