An Italian chef sacked from a Brisbane restaurant had refused to put pineapple on a pizza because it was an "insult to his culture".
In general I get the impression that Italian food culture is not to thrilled about what the rest of the world have done with their dishes. They from what I can tell are not thrilled about kebabpizza either. But Pineapple, or Pineapple and Ham (locally, and probably in most places, referred to a Hawaii pizza) seems to be considered the most atrocious and crime against Italian cuisine.
Pineapple on pizza -- yay or nay? I'll go with yay. It's delicious.
