Very few people on the planet will be capable of playing the upscaled video in its full glory. The NHK and Panasonic plan to trial 8K broadcasting during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics [telegraph.co.uk]. Perhaps YouTube should add an intermediate 5K (5120×2880) option for Apple [theguardian.com] and Dell [digitaltrends.com] users.
