Newly released records from Gov. Ron DeSantis confirmed that his public safety czar Larry Keefe communicated with a Destin-based contractor hired to fly mostly Venezuelan migrants from Texas to Massachusetts by sending a private email [localtoday.news] account with the nickname “Clarice Starling”. ”

They also confirmed he used an encryption app to chat with James Montgomerie of Vertol Systems, the military company that the state paid nearly $3.5 million to relocate migrants to so-called “sanctuary states”...

Based on these new findings, the Florida Center for Government Accountability has filed a motion in its ongoing lawsuit against the FDOT, asking that the new emails be produced as evidence that all requested documents were not released...

“We have filed a motion … in response to that production in the case pending against FDOT,” Barfield said. “I think these notes are both very insightful and humorous.”
